Whats Involved

Leadership can be hard to define but you know when you see it, and you definitely know when it's missing. The good news is leadership skills are a learned process (YOU can learn them).

This course will teach you the skills needed to lead, organise and motivate in order to improve your team’s overall performance and achieve outstanding results.

We aim to provide practising or potential team leaders with the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification does this by developing a wide range of team leading skills and assisting participants in gaining the comprehensive knowledge required by a team leader.

There are three mandatory units and six optional units as shown below:
* Developing Yourself as a Team Leader
* Motivating the Work Team to Perform
* Planning and Monitoring Work
* Developing the Work Team
* Induction and Coaching in the Workplace
* Dealing with Change in the Workplace
* Communicating with People Outside the Work Team
* Briefing the Work Team
* Leading Your Work Team

It will take at least 66 guided learning hours (Glh) to complete. There are 13 credits associated with this qualification. Assessment is by the successful completion of work based assignments, a mini project, reflective reviews and a team briefing.
