Whats Involved

Forget 'chalk and talk'. It's time for a radical new approach to training, and this is what our Managing Safely courses are all about. People absorb more and remember more if they’re fully involved in training and enjoy the whole experience. IOSH’s ground-breaking new course is about bringing health and safety to life, about engaging and stimulating delegates. Training is confirmed by a written assessment at the end of the course and a practical assignment to be completed within two weeks of course end date

Course Days

This course runs over one day per week on four consecutive weeks. Week one is 24 September. Week two is 01 October, Week three is 08 October and week four is 15 October. Times are from 9:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. There is a scheduled lunch break from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. and additional 15 minute breaks, one in the morning & one in the afternoon.

This Course would suit

Managing Safely is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It’s designed to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams. The flexible new high impact programme covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment too. The main areas covered are:
* Introducing Managing Safely
* Assessing risks
* Controlling risks
* Understanding your responsibilities
* Identifying hazards
* Investigating accidents and incidents
* Measuring performance
* Protecting our environment

Qualification obtained

Delegates who successfully complete the written and practical assessments at the end of the course are awarded an IOSH certificate in Managing Safely.

Future Prospects

Anyone with a responsibility for people, property or equipment at work has a legal obligation to health & safety. This course will prepare delegates to meet these obligations and as such will improve their value as an employee.
